VERN' University, the Zagreb Institute of Economics and DKE – MEDIA Office of Croatia announce
international scientific conference
"CREATIVE FUTURE INSIGHTS 2023 – CREATIVITY 360˚"
which will be held
September 14th and 15th, 2023 at VERN' University
(Palmotićeva 82/1).
The keynote speakers at this year's conference are Dr. hc mult. Doris Pack , former Chair of the European Parliament's Committee on Education and Culture, and Dr. Daniela Angelina Jelinčić , Scientific Advisor at the Institute for Development and International Relations.
State Secretary Krešimir Partl from the Ministry of Culture and Media of the Republic of Croatia will attend the opening of the conference on Thursday at 9:30 a.m. , since the program is being held under the high patronage of the Ministry of Culture and the City of Zagreb.
Technological development and changing consumer habits have led to a dynamic boom in the creative industries, making this sector one of the fastest growing in the European Union, and an increasing share of Croatia's GDP. Responsible management and sustainability are the main prerequisites for realizing their full potential, which will be the main idea of the discussions, sessions and panels that will bring together experts from the creative industries and representatives of the business and academic community from across Europe.
On Thursday, a panel titled " The Importance of Sustainability in the Creative and Cultural Industries at the European Level" will be held, featuring Nina Hauser (Green Filming - Austrian Film Institute), April Sotomayor (We are ALBERT) and producer Morana Ikić Komljenović (Little Red Dot, Distribute This!).
Friday is reserved for a discussion from a Croatian perspective, so the panel "The Importance of Creative and Cultural Industries in Croatia" will feature Dr. Aleksandra Uzelac, scientific advisor at the Institute for Development and International Relations ( CRESCINE project), producer and co-author Morana Ikić Komljenović ( Museum of Personal Stories project ), and Helga Lajtman, director of the Čakovec Cultural Center ( MY LITTLE CINEMA project).
Both panel discussions will be moderated by Martina Petrović , head of DKE – Croatian MEDIA Office.
As part of the conference, in collaboration with the Restart Association, two feature-length documentaries will be screened: on September 14th, "GRETA" directed by Nathan Grossman , and on September 15th, "ŽICA" directed by Tiha K. Gudac .
