4th international scientific conference "Mediterranean Islands Conference" on Vis, from September 14th to 17th

Current events in the field of energy, sustainability, self-sufficiency and natural resources will be among the main topics of this year's conference.

Mediterranean Islands Conference (MIC – Vis 2022)

Demographic trends, public services, culture and tradition, migration trends, renewable energy sources, sustainable development, economy and security are just some of the development factors that have influenced the development of the Mediterranean throughout history. And they still influence it today.

The importance of encouraging discussion on these topics and systematic reflection on them in the context of global trends and future development is confirmed by the continuity of the international multidisciplinary scientific conference "Mediterranean Islands Conference", which has become a regional hub for reflection on the development of the Mediterranean.

This year's 4th MIC-Vis conference will be held from September 14th to 17th on the island of Vis , organized by VERN' University and the Ivo Pilar Institute of Social Sciences , under the high patronage of the President of the Republic of Croatia Zoran Milanović and the patronage of the Town of Vis.

Keynote speakers at the conference, eminent experts Prof. Emeritus Dr. Sc. Frano Barbir from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture of the University of Split and Prof. Dr. Sc. Mladen Merćep from the Department of Translational Medicine of the Children's Hospital Srebrnjak, will provide participants with insight into the issues of energy sustainability and the latest medical advances, as an overture to a dialogue on current global topics.

In the scientific part of the program , more than 150 scientists and experts from 17 countries will present research papers, in which they will present new insights and ideas on one of 20 conference topics in the context of the development of Mediterranean countries: architecture, demography, geography, public services, culture and tradition, media and communication, migration, renewable energy sources, education, sustainable development, the seabed and biology, agriculture and fisheries, business and economy, history, security, sports, tourism, and art and literature.

As part of the conference, an exhibition of student photographs "Feel the Mediterranean" will be opened, and in the social part of the program, all visitors can expect numerous cultural and social events such as exhibitions, concerts, excursions and banquets.
