This was an excellent opportunity for students to experience first-hand how a television show is created, which is broadcast live – what the tasks of the show's participants are, but also what happens "behind the camera".
VERN's undergraduate Journalism students, as part of their fieldwork, accompanied by lecturer Zlatko Herljević, participated in the recording of the HRT live show "Diagnosis", and actively contributed to the realization of the show with their questions and comments.
Editor and host Sanja Kocijančić Petričević , together with guests Dr. Ivana Portolan Pajić , Deputy Head of the City Health Office of the City of Zagreb and member of the board of the "Croatian Heart House" Foundation, and Prof. Dr. sc. Davor Štimac , Director of the Rijeka Clinical Hospital Center and President of the Croatian Obesity Society, discussed the causes and consequences of overweight in people.
The guests pointed out that men whose waist circumference is more than 102 centimeters and women whose waist circumference is more than 88 centimeters are considered overweight. Croatians, which is of great concern to doctors, are among the fattest people in Europe, as statistics show that almost 70 percent of adult men and 50 percent of women are overweight. Some of the main causes of overweight in the modern era are the consumption of fast food, insufficient movement and lack of exercise. "Few people take more than the recommended 10,000 steps a day, most of them take half that," emphasized Professor Štimac.

"A very interesting and educational experience and we are definitely interested in the next recording," said the students.
