NEM Zagreb workshop at VERN' brought together prominent regional creatives from the TV industry

The workshop was also attended by two students of VERN's art studies.

Participants were awarded certificates upon completion of the workshop.

Prominent regional screenwriters, producers, directors, choreographers and other creatives from the TV industry gathered at VERN' University in early December for a three-day NEM Zagreb workshop held by Hayley McKenzie , founder and CEO of British screenwriter development company Script Angel.

Based on her many years of experience in the TV and film industry, during which she worked in some of the largest media systems such as the BBC, ITV, Channel Four, etc., Hayley shared useful knowledge and insights with the participants, as well as practical examples in the areas of screenwriting, creating original text, character and plot development, pitching , etc.

The workshop was realized within the framework of a long-standing cooperation between NEM and VERN' University, and was also attended by two students of VERN's art studies.

"Participating was a very pleasant and useful experience that will come in handy in my future career. The lecturer was excellent and was always ready and willing to answer our questions and give us contemporary and relevant examples and advice. Although it only lasted three days, the NEM workshop taught me enough and introduced me to how to write scripts for TV series, and it also inspired me to try my hand at this sphere of creative work. Very interesting, and I could listen to Hayley McKenzie for longer than three days," commented Nika Ivanić , a student of the undergraduate study of Film, Television and Multimedia Design

" It was a great pleasure for me to participate in a workshop with colleagues from the profession who guided the course of the lecture with their questions and comments. In this way, the information I absorb in the courses of the graduate study Film and Television Directing and Production gained an even broader context, and the additional value is certainly the information about the trends in the needs of the creative market. In addition to proven techniques that can help us in developing scripts for television drama series, with many concrete examples, we also received interesting information about how Britain invests in the development of writers and scripts," Monika Mišić , a graduate student of the Film and Television Directing and Production, told us.
