Students of VERN's graduate study program in Accounting and Finance recently learned in detail about the functioning of the financial system of the Republic of Croatia.
As part of the course Business Banking taught by Miroslav Gregurek, Ph.D. , the Director of the Lending Sector at HBOR, Suzana Laušin-Katanec, gave a guest lecture entitled "Financial System in the Republic of Croatia" for our students.
During the lecture, the guest explained what elements the financial system consists of, how they are connected, how they exchange information with each other and ensure the flow of money.
"Hanging out with young, ambitious and curious people is always a challenge, but above all a pleasure. We can always learn a lot from each other. Since young people, especially millennials and generation Z, today cover 50 percent of the labor market, it is important to understand their thoughts and their needs so that we can better cooperate with each other. I am particularly inspired by the courage and audacity of these young generations who are ready to enter the labor market directly with their ideas, their innovation and entrepreneurship. It is very important that we adapt to new generations as soon as possible because revolutionary changes will not bypass anyone, not even large financial institutions such as banks. It is interesting to hear how much they know about technological achievements, digital tools, financial markets, different types of investments and I think the message for us is that we must be prepared for the different needs of new generations. It is wonderful to work and cooperate with young people who offer us a vision of the future, but are at the same time ready to accept our wisdom and experience. I look forward to every new meeting with generations of students because in this way we create a shared world full of opportunities," said Suzana Laušin-Katanec after the lecture.
Guest lectures by business experts from some of the most successful companies in Croatia continuously enrich the regular teaching process at VERN's studies, so that students gain practical business knowledge and are familiar with the latest business trends. This type of cooperation with companies, as well as work on company project assignments, is conceptually realized through VERN's unique #EducationmeetsBusiness cooperation program with the business community.
