At interesting panel discussions, they saw how TikTok competes with Google, how to implement AI in the tourism sector, etc.

As part of fieldwork at the undergraduate study program Tourism - Tourism and Hotel Management , our students, accompanied by professor Martina Majić, participated in the 18th Croatian Camping Congress in mid-November.
The Camping Association of Croatia, as the organizer, has traditionally focused on encouraging education and employment in the tourism sector as well as career development in the camping segment.
The program part was therefore full of business analyses, examples of good practices, investment reviews and panel discussions through which students, as well as other visitors, more experienced industry representatives could gain insight into current events in the sector.

Students also learned how TikTok is becoming a serious competitor to Google and which social networks are ultimately winning the social media battle. They also learned how important digital marketing is for reaching target groups and how the hospitality industry can create content that will be interesting to their audience.
Particularly interesting was the lecture entitled "Ready for the future? Technologies that will change tourism" , which showed how artificial intelligence should be used for the advancement of business in the tourism sector and related activities. This especially applies to the application of AI in improving internal work processes, but also in the development of communication with users and guests.

Through the informal part of the program and the exchange of opinions, the students were able to feel the atmosphere of this tourism sector, make their first contacts with successful companies, and discover the beauty of working in camping as well as career development opportunities. They also visited the fair part of the congress, where camping equipment, mobile homes, glamping facilities, sports facilities, recreational vehicles, etc. were exhibited.
