The conclusion of the workshop and pitch will be marked by the announcement of the winners and the awarding of financial prizes.
From July 1st to 3rd, an international multimedia workshop "Let's pitch some shorts" will be held at VERN, followed by a pitching forum and the fight for prizes in the grand finale on July 4th at the Kaptol Cinema Boutique in Zagreb.
The workshop is organized by DKE - MEDIA Offices from Croatia, Greece, Georgia and Serbia in cooperation with the Film Center of Montenegro, the Malta Producers Association and the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Cyprus, and the workshop participants were selected through a selection process.
Out of the total number of applications, ten works and their authors were selected, among them VERN's alumni of Film, TV and Multimedia Design Mile Božićević , screenwriter and director of the film "Punishment".
The goal of this workshop is to offer participants, primarily directors and screenwriters, guidelines and adequate answers to questions about the most effective ways of preparing and presenting their own project to the professional public - producers, distributors, sales representatives, but also to the wider audience.
Therefore, the finale will be marked by the pitching itself on July 4th, in front of an expert jury, where ten finalists will compete for financial prizes in the amounts of 3,000 and 1,500 euros, as well as the right to participate in regional pitching competitions and consulting service packages .
The workshop at VERN is led by experienced and renowned German film producer Roshanak Behesht Nedjad , whose latest film, "Mission Ulja Funk", premiered in 2021 as part of the Generation program at the Berlin International Film Festival. Behesht Nedjad is a member of the European and German Film Academies and a graduate and mentor of the most famous European educational program for film producers, EAVE - European Audiovisual Entrepreneurs.
The winners of the pitch will be decided by an international expert jury consisting of: Morana Ikić Komljenović (producer / Little Red Dot), Laurent Crouzeix (Euro Connection event host / Clermont Ferrand International Film Festival), Kenan Musić (producer and director of the Youth Film Festival Sarajevo) and Ella Mische (actress, producer and director of the Croatian International Film Festival).
