Barbecues in nature, socializing with colleagues, and trips along the Croatian coast were a good break from teaching activities.

In addition to standard academic obligations, the summer semester at VERN is also a traditional period of numerous extracurricular activities, as our foreign students who studied with us this semester as part of the Erasmus+ program have witnessed.
Fellow students from Portugal and Spain who exchanged their student desks at the Polytechnic Institute of Cávado and Ave (Instituto Politécnico do Cávado e do Ave – IPCA), or Rey Juan Carlos University, for those at VERN' University, shared with us their impressions of studying in Zagreb.

"The spring barbecue and trip to Istria were excellent, and in that way you encouraged us foreign students to connect with each other, as well as with domestic students and the local population, and that was really nice," said Carolina Correia from the Portuguese IPCA, who is studying tourism management.
"Studying in Croatia is completely different for me than in Portugal because I also work at home while studying, so my impressions of VERN are very positive. The professors were very attentive, always ready to help, and the courses were very interesting," added Vânia, and Carolina agreed.

Spanish student Ana Belén Sampedro Peña was also delighted with Zagreb, as it is much calmer than Madrid, which suited her perfectly.
"Students are offered numerous opportunities from interesting lectures, travel, entertainment, discovering new things and meeting new colleagues. The atmosphere was really great and I felt comfortable everywhere, both at the faculty and at other events on Bundek, Jarun and at places to go out," concluded Ana from Rey Juan Carlos University.
