As part of the course on sustainability and experience tourism, students of the graduate program in Sustainable Tourism Development Management had the opportunity to listen to an inspiring lecture by our lecturer , Dr. Ivan Tante , in mid-December.
Colleague Tanta told the students about his personal experience of walking thousands of kilometers along different routes of the Camino de Santiago, a pilgrimage route that leads to Santiago de Compostela, the city where the relics of the Holy Apostle James are located.

Going through beautiful slides of the Spanish landscape, my colleague Tanta showed the students all the beauty and challenges of this form of tourism, which has an increasing number of fans around the world, and is also becoming popular in Croatia. In addition to the personal, this form of tourism also has social value because the carbon footprint of such trips is minimized, since the only energy consumed is that of one's own muscles, and the positive impact on the mental and physical health of the individual is undeniable.
