"When I'm asked what this book is about, I somehow usually answer that it's about the search for meaning in human life, broadly speaking. It's not as dramatic as it sounds, but it seems to me that that's where all the stories are."

These are the words of our professor , Dr. Ozana Ramljak, who described her new book "Passings" , which was presented in mid-April in Mostar as part of the Napredak Culture Week (NTK) 2025 event.

The event was held on April 14, and "Passings" brings 15 prose miniatures for which the moderator of the presentation, a doctoral student at the Croatian Cultural Society (HKD) "Napredak" Marija Pavković Baković , indicated that the illustrations in the book, signed by Karmen Polić, are very intriguing and it is obvious that they are very coherent with the text. She particularly highlighted the 12 short stories that, told in the third person, although of a narrative character, "pulsate with a strong poetic sensibility" .

As a reminder, our professor has dedicated most of her literary work to children, and her work includes: Zgodne nezgodde (2004); Quartet in F major (2007); Očaranosit, priče u šihu (2010); Pajinasta prica (2013); Uskrsno jutro, priče u šivoma (2013); and the picture books Što će biti kad odraste (2017) and Kad bi šuma bila grad (2021), published in collaboration with illustrator Ivana Crnošija Galović .

Prof. Dr. sc. Ozana Ramljak is the recipient of numerous professional awards, such as the Croatian Society of Writers for Children and Young People's Literary Award for the Best Picture Book in 2017, second prize in the Competition for the Best Dramatic Text for the Puppet Theatre and Children's Theatre "Mali Marulić" in 2020, and the "Dragan Radulović" Literary Award for the novel How Bluno Seeked Love in 2024. Incidentally, it was from the aforementioned novel that Bluno received his script for the feature-length animated film "Bluno", created with the support of the Croatian Academy of Sciences and Arts.

"As for future promotions, I definitely have plans and ideas. Considering that the co-publisher is from Split, the first one after this one will be in Split, and then in Zagreb. After all that, I hope for some new books," our professor emphasized.
