The members of the committee are distinguished scientists, researchers, politicians and public figures with expertise in the field of environmental protection.

VERN's lecturer and head of three graduate studies, Dr. Mirela Holy , has been elected to the EU Mission Board for Climate Change Adaptation, and is the only representative of Croatia in general to be elected to the Horizon Europe Mission Board.
The Mission Committees are completely new European advisory bodies, five in total, in the areas of climate change, cancer, marine and water conservation, smart cities, and soil and food conservation. Each Mission Committee has a total of 15 members, selected from among eminent scientists, researchers, politicians and public figures who have distinguished themselves in the field covered by the respective Mission Committee.
The election to the Horizon Europe Mission Boards is a great recognition for VERN's head, the former Minister of Environmental Protection of the Republic of Croatia, as more than 2,000 candidates from across the European Union competed for membership in the Mission Boards.
The committee to which our lecturer was appointed also deals with social adaptation, and is chaired by Connie Hedegaard, former EU Commissioner for Climate Action and former Danish Minister of the Environment.
