After researching the legal regulations, the teams conducted research, created a detailed overview of deadlines and costs, and prepared development guidelines.

Second-year students of VERN's graduate study in IT Management successfully presented their project solutions in the renewable energy segment for the partner company Statkraft OIE doo within the Project Management course.
The semester-long project development ended with a presentation of solutions, and student teams developed project ideas for the development of solar power plants on permanent plantations - so-called agrosolar power plants, then power plants in so-called GO TO zones, i.e. inactive mines in Croatia, and the development of new technologies for energy storage from renewable energy sources.
"Although the students have no experience with energy, they did an excellent job researching the issue and offered quality solutions, some of which we will try and implement. I am satisfied with the presentations and the skills shown and I hope that they learned something from us," said electrical engineer Neven Vukadinović , representative of Statkraft OIE doo for energy design and production.

At the beginning of the semester, he introduced them to the portfolio of this largest renewable energy producer in Europe, as well as a global company on the energy market, which has recognized Croatia's potential as one of Europe's fastest growing markets for solar energy.
Therefore, it is not surprising that the students developed highly specialized projects for which they first analyzed legal and regulatory regulations and conducted research, then created a detailed overview and analysis of deadlines and costs in the phase before the construction of the plant itself, and prepared guidelines for the more efficient development of such projects in Croatia.

"In this course, we continuously collaborate with various partner companies, but they all generally came from the domain of information and communication technologies. Therefore, this year it was very interesting for us to enter the field of renewable energy sources, because it is extremely important due to climate change, and I believe it will also help students learn to develop project ideas on innovative applications of such energy sources," emphasized the course leader and lecturer , M. Sc. Hrvoje Belani .
Academic cooperation with this successful company, which produces hydropower, wind power, solar power and gas power, while also supplying district heating systems and planning new solar and wind power projects in Croatia, was realized within the framework of VERN's #EducationmeetsBusiness cooperation project with the economy.
Student cooperation with partner companies combines theoretical knowledge and practical work on real business cases of some of the most successful companies and organizations operating in Croatia.
Projektni zadaci time postaju sastavni dio silabusa i ispita, odnosno ocjene koju student ostvaruje u sklopu kolegija.
