VERN's students in the field – studying business and health tourism at the Hilton and Bagatin Polyclinic

Students of VERN's undergraduate study program Truizma visited the Double Tree by Hilton hotel and the Bagatin Polyclinic as part of their fieldwork in the course Tourist Attractions and Forms of Tourism , where they learned more about special, rapidly growing forms of tourism in Croatia and Zagreb - business, health and medical tourism.

In the Double Tree by Hilton hotel, which is significantly dominated by demand from the business segment, the students were hosted by Ivan Gašper , director of sales and marketing, who particularly pointed out the importance of adapting the offer to market segments, which represent the base segment of demand in business and congress tourism.

And the very fact that the students were hosted in a primary medical institution by a person in the position of head of health tourism - Tea Hitner - clearly indicates the strategic orientation of the Bagatin Polyclinic towards the tourism sector, especially after last year's recognition as the best international clinic for cosmetic surgery in 2017. At the polyclinic, our students learned how important it is to connect the attractiveness of a destination with highly branded medical tourism services, why it is necessary to continuously think about innovations, and the importance of CRM.

In addition to the theoretical presentation, the students also toured the hotel and clinic premises, and were convinced of the sophistication of services in the aforementioned selective forms of tourism.
