Our alumni Karlo Maćaš won a gold medal at the European Underwater Photography Championships, which were held earlier this month in Portugal on the island of Madeira.
In an extremely strong competition of 43 competitors from 13 different countries, Karlo, together with his assistant Lucija Perković , who posed in the photographs, was declared the best in the "Ambience with a model" category, and the two of them thus won a valuable award for their Underwater Activities Club Vodomar Duga Resa.
Karlo has been involved in underwater photography since 2014, and so far he has captured beautiful shots in the waters of the Caribbean, Atlantic, Indian and Pacific Oceans, and the Red Sea, for which he has won numerous awards.

As he himself admits: "I'm glad that I managed to turn my hobby, which was originally underwater photography, into a real job. In addition, I am a PADI and SSI diving instructor and an RYA skipper, and so far I have been lucky enough to dive in some of the most beautiful locations in the world and sail many oceans."
In addition to the winning photo, three more of his photos were placed in the TOP10 in this competition.

Karlo, congratulations!
