Dora was selected for the ZICER acceleration program in October this year, and until the finals she was developing the project and acquiring entrepreneurial competencies.
The startup project "Just H2O" by VERN's graduate student in Sustainable Tourism Development Management Dora Maroš won second prize in the amount of 100,000 kuna in the Startup Factory finals.
This is an acceleration program of the Zagreb Innovation Center (ZICER), which has been gathering promising startup projects and teams for the seventh year, providing them with development and mentoring support, and ultimately a final pitch to win a financial prize.
During the Startup Factory selection about a month ago , Dora explained to us that "Just H2O" is a project intended to improve the health of citizens, and it is a water purification filter made from completely natural materials and would be installed in a tank with a tap, with a capacity of about six liters.
Interestingly, this project is also the backbone of her graduate thesis on sustainable tourism development.
Of the other finalists, teams Naratour and PlayTracker won 250,000 kuna each, while teams Piklean and Powerhouse Oncology won the same amount as our Dora, 100,000 kuna each.
