There are numerous reasons why Erasmus students go on international exchange, but those who come to study for one semester at VERN' University usually share the same impression - we came on the recommendation of other fellow students, we found it interesting and useful.
These are exactly the impressions shared with us by Erasmus students from Portugal, Finland, and Germany who studied at VERN' during the winter semester.
"I chose Croatia because I was here for the first time two years ago and I absolutely loved it. I had only heard positive experiences about Zagreb and studying at VERN from my colleagues, so that was reason enough for me to come here," explained Leonor Henriques from Portugal, who is studying human resources management.
Pedro Pereira from Portugal had always wanted to visit Croatia, and although studying in Zagreb was only his third option, Croatia's location in Europe and cultural heritage were the main arguments for the final choice. "VERN' seemed very prestigious to me, and I had only heard positive experiences about the professors, so I didn't regret it at all."

"The Erasmus atmosphere is very stimulating and all students feel welcome. I really liked the Croatian coast and landscapes, but also the custom of serving a glass of water with coffee, which is not the case in Portugal," Erica Domingos , a communications and PR student from Portugal, told us.
International business students from Finland, Rosa Marie Selander and her colleague Niilo Sulku, emphasized that Croatia is an interesting study destination because of its different culture and climate, and an additional motivation for studying at VERN was the positive experiences of their colleagues. "Overall, it was interesting for me to learn about different cultural aspects through personal experience and lectures," Rosa Marie indicated.
Anouka Nooren, an economics student from the German University of Aalen, believes that life in Zagreb is more affordable than in other European cities, which she certainly highlights as an advantage, and says about her studies: "VERN' attracted me because of the interesting and diverse courses I could enroll in."
Her German colleagues, Rosa Veltmann from Solingen University of Applied Sciences and Moritz Binder from Aalen University, also concluded that Croatia is an excellent destination for an exchange semester, both because of its cultural diversity and because of the travel opportunities.
"I would rate studying at VERN' a 10/10, and as for life in Zagreb, I recommend surrounding yourself with friends and acquaintances from your studies to make it even more interesting. Thank you for this great experience," concluded Ariane Rodriques , a communications and PR student from Portugal.
