The theme of this year's conference is "Creativity of Othering in the Age of Migration", and it will be held on September 18th and 19th at VERN' University.
VERN' University traditionally organizes, every other year in September, together with the Zagreb Institute of Economics, a central international scientific conference on the symbiosis of creative industries and the economy.
The third conference entitled
"Creative Future Insights 2025 - Creativity of Othering in the Age of Migration"
will be held
September 18th and 19th, 2025 in the academic spaces of VERN'a
(Palmotićeva 82/1) .
Sessions, discussions and thematic panels as part of the conference will deal with the current topic of the so-called the "influence of others" on culture and tradition in mainstream and traditional contexts. The conference will provide a platform for interdisciplinary research, policy debate and innovative ideas, addressing areas such as:
- social and economic significance of creative industries in the era of migration;
- the relationship between culture, identity and creative economy;
- the role of creative industries in promoting cultural diversity and innovation;
- media representation and commodification of "other" cultures;
- the global creative industry's response to migration, awakening culture and identity politics.
The call for papers is open until March 15, 2025 , and the proposals for writing abstracts are as follows:

The keynote speaker for this year's conference will be Dr. Martina Topić from the University of Alabama, and the working language of the two-day conference will be English.
