The first international scientific conference CFI 2021 was successfully held at VERN

The first international scientific conference "Creative Future Insights 2021 – Creative Industries and Experience Economy" was held on 13 and 14 September 2021 at VERN' University. The conference was jointly organized by VERN' University and the Institute of Economics in Zagreb, in partnership with the Croatian Cluster of Creative and Cultural Industries, the Friedrich Ebert Foundation and the Museum of Contemporary Art.

The conference brought together over 60 experts, scientists and practitioners from the field of creative industries who, through 30 presentations from 14 different fields, presented new knowledge about one of the most propulsive economic sectors.

Due to the epidemiological situation, the conference was held in a hybrid format – both in the premises of VERN' University and online. This allowed participants to participate in discussions and present their work both live and online.

Two plenary presentations were held as part of the conference. The first presentation was given by Sarah Langnese from Kreativ Kultur Berlin on the topic "How to support the cultural and creative industries? A Berlin perspective". Sarah shared her experience and practice of Berlin's advisory center for cultural and creative professionals and announced the center's future plans.

On the second day of the conference, there was a plenary presentation by Janani Ramanathan, FWAAS, on the topic "Creativity in the Post-Pandemic World and Beyond." Janani, who is a senior research fellow at the MSS Research (MSSR) institute in India, sparked a discussion about the role and application of creativity in a post-pandemic environment.

The rich program of the conference was rounded off by two current panels that brought together local experts from the field of design management and the gaming industry.
