A group of students from the Finnish university Laurea University of Applied Sciences visited VERN in mid-November to study and collaborate with our students on topics from the domain of hotel and tourism management, such as idea development, design thinking, ethnographic methods, customer relationships, etc.

This is part of the international project "Versatile Island Cooperating for New Services and Innovation in Tourism (VISIT)" , and the intensive working visit included student and academic cooperation between representatives of both institutions, namely two lecturers from the Finnish polytechnic and the Head of VERN's International Cooperation Office, Dubravko Kraus .
As part of the weekly program, domestic and international students also developed project solutions for two business case studies in collaboration with partner companies Uniline and Valamar, which are participating in VERN's #EducationmeetsBusiness cooperation project with the economy. In accordance with VERN's unique concept of dual education "company-partners" and the method of its implementation, students also presented their project solutions for "business improvement" and "introduction of new services" to company representatives - Kristian Šustar (Uniline) and Iva Božinović (Valamar).
Students and lecturers from Finland thus became better acquainted with the method of preparing students at VERN for successful integration into the labor market and innovative methods of education of future specialists.
