VERN's students presented their podcast project at an international festival in Romania

The colors of VERN were represented by Beatta Ugrin and Mario Gaćina, who, along with Professor Robert Zuber, participated in the One World Festival of Documentary and Human Rights Films.

Our students Beatta Ugrin and Mario Gaćina recently attended the multi-day international documentary and human rights film festival "One World Romania" held in Bucharest.

At that festival, to which they were invited by the organizers, our students presented their student project – Podcast BEAT' – through which they were nominated for the competition for the best European podcasts, which will be held in the fall in the Bulgarian capital, Sofia.

In addition to participating in numerous workshops, panels and events to spread acquaintances, our students also received the happy news that their podcast was selected for the finals of the competition.

Professor Robert Zuber , who was also part of our delegation and participated in the festival in the role of mentor and panellist, was also pleased.

Upon her return, Beatta told us that "the festival went great. We had the honor of presenting our student podcast, which caused particular enthusiasm among the jury. Although the other works were of exceptional quality and significant, among very serious and thematically difficult projects, ours stood out with its positive energy and authentic love for what we do — and everyone noticed that. Over the course of five days, we participated in workshops with top podcasters, directors, and producers from Romania and the wider region. We really learned a lot — from production, storytelling, to presentation and content development."

She added: "The next step awaits us in the fall in Sofia, Bulgaria, where the award for the best podcast will be presented."

We wish them the best of luck with their podcast project.
