As part of the international cooperation between VERN' University and Brittany Université, students of this university will have the opportunity to learn from VERN's distinguished professors.
Professor from VERN' University and head of the university's undergraduate study program in Cyber Communications , Assistant Professor Mirela Holy, PhD, gave a guest lecture for students of the international University of Brittany .
In the online lecture entitled "The Green New Deal and changes in EU environmental policies", our professor stated the main points from the key European strategic development document, the Green New Plan, with the implementation of which Europe will become the first climate-neutral continent by 2050.
"The implementation of the New Green Plan can be divided into two phases, the first, the preparatory one, which will end in 2025, and during this period all strategies, policies and action plans with precisely defined deadlines for the implementation of the New Green Plan will be drawn up and adopted. The transition towards climate neutrality will last one generation, i.e. from 2025 to 2050, and will entail fundamental changes in the field of economy, environmental protection and social equality," explained our professor.
In the continuation of the lecture, she presented an overview of all the steps taken so far in the legal implementation of the new Green Plan and indicated that, given the fact that environmental protection policy is a common policy of the European Union, these policies are binding for all member states.
"The Green New Agenda brings many changes to the EU's environmental protection policy, so during the lecture I presented the most important political issues in the field of environmental protection related to the implementation of the Green New Agenda," explained Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mirela Holy.
The purpose of these lectures is to convey to foreign students international experiences and knowledge from the fields studied in VERN's study programs and to show them how scientific and professional knowledge can be implemented in business practice and personal development.
