The VIRTUAL COFFEE of VERN's Student Counseling Center, held in mid-November, hosted students and alumni who discussed their experiences studying at VERN and the support of professors and student services in academic development.
Guests of this virtual gathering, student Tomislav Drapela and alumni Isabell Keler , Magdalena Prša and Karlo Tašler, emphasized that the support of professors in teaching, but also when working on project assignments at VERN' is extremely important in the process of students' business profiling during their studies, while the support of the Student Counseling Center is important for their personal growth and development.

"I told the students to complement their theoretical knowledge with practical knowledge, in order to be more competitive when entering the labor market. I also suggested that they join volunteer associations, because this way they network with proactive students, share knowledge and experience, and improve the environment in which they operate," said Tomislav Drapela , a 3rd-year undergraduate student in Public Relations.
VERN' graduate Magdalena Prša , executive assistant at Photomath, concluded that the exchange of experiences between active and former students is more than welcome, both experiences about studies and experiences from the business world.
"I hope that my experiences will be useful to students and that they will encourage them to persevere on their path, not to be afraid of opportunities, even when they think they are not up to them, because no one is born with all the knowledge in the world, but it is acquired through experience and work on oneself. Let them be curious, explore possibilities, accept opportunities and remain themselves, and success will certainly not be lacking."
"It was interesting to participate in a conversation dedicated to 'finding yourself'. It seems that a key part of that process is to seize as many opportunities as possible and not be afraid to step into the unknown. Although times may seem difficult, students should now more than ever take advantage of the opportunities that VERN' offers them to learn about themselves and the world. Those who now prove strong enough to ride the wave of change will emerge victorious," concluded alumni Karlo Tašler , a copywriter for Medium and Telesport based in London.
"The path to the 'stars' is always winding, with many obstacles, twists and turns, and hyenas on the way, but when you fall, always get up. Talk to people around you who have experience and knowledge, never hesitate to ask a question. As my professor would say, 'there are no stupid questions', every situation is a school for the future. Stay yourself and set small or big goals for yourself that you will look straight ahead to no matter what. And finally, never, ever give up on your dreams," said VERN's graduate Isabell Keler , a radio producer at Antena Zagreb, to the students.
The Student Counseling Center is available to students of VERN' University for all assistance and support in student life.
