What knowledge will you gain during your studies?
Economic knowledge (43%)
Economics and entrepreneurship
You will become familiar with the universal principles of economics and learn how to apply theory in practice through entrepreneurship.
Finance and accounting
What is cash flow , how to manage stocks, or how to calculate business risk, for example, are just some of the knowledge you will use in your business career...
Marketing
Why is a comment better than a like ? When to use content marketing and when to use paid advertising ? How to create a marketing plan for a successful campaign and how do we actually measure its success? These are the basics of (digital) marketing, and you will dive even deeper, much deeper, during your studies.
Management
What are all the leadership styles and what are the competencies of every real manager and leader? You will learn how to strategically position yourself, how to determine your strengths or how to best scan the market.
Basic knowledge (12%)
Through basic knowledge of mathematics, statistics, and law, you will learn, for example, which methods to use to assess the profitability of a business investment, how to properly budget projects, and what you need to start your own company.
Soft skills (34%)
Without certain skills, you simply cannot survive in the business world. Why is emotional intelligence important? How to resolve conflicts and communicate assertively? How to form a working group or manage teams? How to increase productivity with time management techniques? You will master all these and many other skills during your studies.
Elective courses (11%)
Elective courses are here to further enhance your knowledge and turn it into practical skills. Learn about consumer behavior in the market, improve your public speaking skills, learn to manage projects. These are just some of the options offered to you.
Learning outcomes
After completing the studies, students will be able to:
- Present business ideas, results or challenges in Croatian or English.
- Use basic office information technologies to improve business efficiency.
- Recognize different organizational structures and characteristics of organizational culture of business organizations. Develop a business and development strategy for a small or medium-sized enterprise.
- Collect and process data necessary for creating simple reports common in business practice. Calculate basic business performance indicators. Create a marketing plan for a business organization.
- To shape strategic guidelines for marketing management.
Analyze external and internal factors that affect a company's operations. - Explain the nature, purpose and process of planning, organizing, staffing, leading and controlling. Identify the information and its sources necessary to align business organization documents with the applicable legal framework for business operations. Calculate financial indicators and compare them with companies in the same industry. Select the appropriate source of financing for the company according to the cost of financing criterion. Interpret information derived from financial statements from the perspective of different groups of users.
- Collect necessary information about the business opportunity from various sources.
- Assess the feasibility and profitability of an entrepreneurial venture. Develop an entrepreneurial business plan.
- Explain the characteristics of businesses and entities in international trade and international trade clauses.
- Recognize problems of ethical and socially responsible behavior in all segments of business. Actively participate in teamwork within a business system.
Study information
Full-time study
Classes are held over 2 semesters of 15 weeks. Daily commitment is 4 to 6 teaching hours.
Part-time study
Classes take place over 15 weeks per semester starting at 5pm (on average 12 school hours per week, or 3 days per week).

Applications are currently being accepted for undergraduate studies starting in March 2026 and October 2026.

Details about the admission process
Tuition includes
- Administering enrollment and studying at VERN
- Teaching according to the curriculum
- Group and/or individual mentoring
- Two exams for each course
- Administration and support during the organization and execution of professional practice
- Use of teaching and presentation equipment – computers, videos, projectors, etc.
- Use of the library and the faculty multi-media center for study purposes
- Using the VERN'a information system for study purposes
- Teaching materials produced by VERN: written summaries and notes from lectures and workshops, scripts, etc.
- Organized use of certain sports facilities in rented times, visits to theater performances and concerts according to the CARPE DIEM program
- Defense of the Final/Diploma Thesis
- Graduation ceremony – making the diploma, using it, commemorative caps, etc.
