Course objectives
By attending the interactive, mosaic Design Thinking course, students will upgrade existing knowledge and gain a broader insight into solving business (and other) problems, and learn new approaches to creating innovative sustainable products, services and companies. This dynamic course will be useful for those who want to get acquainted with innovative techniques and activities, and think about adding new value in entrepreneurial ventures. By mastering the techniques of systematic stimulation and nurturing of creativity, students will become familiar with the concept of design thinking and the application of relevant tools that will enrich their skills in effectively responding to different types of challenges. The course is designed to guide students through all stages of the process of design reflection and action (empathizing with customers/clients/partners, defining challenges, shaping ideas, creating prototypes, testing solutions and incorporating improvements based on feedback). In the practical part of the course, students will work in groups to solve selected problems and case studies, and demonstrate the practical application of design thinking and innovation development in response to specific challenges from the real business world. The concept of the course combines theoretical and practical content. In the theoretical part, through presentations, lectures and discussions, students will be introduced in detail to the concept of Design Thinking, and will be guided through all stages of the process
with the application of Design Thinking tools. In the practical part of the course, students will be divided into working groups (teams) that will work on the practical application of Design Thinking for specific challenges from the real business world and/or other areas.
