Course objectives
Mastering the basic requirements of written and oral communication in the modern Croatian standard language. Distinguishing the characteristics of functional styles of the standard Croatian language with an emphasis on the language of the media. Mastering the skills of writing short texts: business letters, semi-public communication texts, essays, discussions, announcements, professional texts, reviews, reports, interviews, etc. Also developing basic oratory skills so that students become more capable of expressing their ideas, more convincing in influencing others and more successful in achieving their own goals and using the media space offered to them in various forms. In doing so, work will be done on developing clear, stimulating and creative thinking as the prerequisite for every strong oratory situation, raising awareness of the importance of active listening as an extremely important component of every speech, and reference will be made to the specificities of individual media about which, within which or because of which communication is carried out
