Course objectives
The aim of the course is to provide students with a basic insight into the classification of literature, and to introduce them to the basic concepts and methods of analyzing the structure of a literary work, as well as the principles and basic distinguishing issues of adapting a literary model for another medium, with a focus on film. Going through the basic theoretical concepts of narrative and narratology, an attempt will be made to develop the ability to analyze narrative in literature and film and to independently adapt a literary text to a chosen medium.
