Course objectives
By combining theory and practice, students are provided with the basic knowledge and skills necessary for editorial work in newspapers, the web, television and radio in the pre-digital and digital era. Students will become familiar with the way the newsroom functions and with the tasks performed by the editor-in-chief, the editor-in-chief and the editors of certain areas (sections). They will be shown the importance of editorial processes, which include: editorial board, story ordering, editorial 'stock exchange', announcement of exclusives and story placement. Students will learn about the differences in the organization of work in former classic newsrooms and today in the conditions of media convergence (newsroom), the legalities of news selection and the basic rules of editing.
