Course objectives
The aim of this course is to introduce students to the basic concepts related to modern computer networks: local networks and protocols, addressing in networks, mechanisms for automatically assigning network parameters to computers, connecting local networks to a global network, data transfer services from any computer to any computer in the network, data transfer services from any application to any application in the network, connection and connectionless services, building network applications, standard services and protocols of the highest levels, and the problem of security in networks. During the course, knowledge is acquired that enables solving practical problems as well as later upgrading the acquired skills.
