Course objectives
The aim of the course is to acquire the ability to think constructively and adopt methods for solving problems.
- introduce students to the conditions of equilibrium, types of plane beams, loading methods and types of stresses in parts of a certain structure and their influence on structural elements,
- apply theoretical knowledge to specific practical problems,
- train students to calculate the most important static quantities in engineering (loads, internal forces, mechanical and geometric characteristics of structural parts) as well as to dimension individual structural elements based on loads.
