Course objectives
The aim of the course is to provide students with insight into the dynamic interaction of the Croatian language (as a system that shapes the space of contemporary media) and contemporary media (which directly influence it); to introduce students to the laws of different functional styles in the Croatian (standard) language, to the peculiarities of the language of the media, to raise awareness of the stylistic and normative adaptation of the Croatian language to the type of media or genre; to raise awareness of the relationship between language and discourse, the intertwining of linguistic, semantic, cultural and social circumstances, and the specificity of the ever-re-established transmedia space.
