Course objectives
The aim of the course is to introduce students to the overall scope of work of a screenwriter within a TV series project by introducing them to all segments and elements of that process and acquiring specific professional knowledge for writing scripts. To introduce students to a TV series as a specific feature television content, its formats and genres, and its characteristics and rules, with an insight into its genesis from the beginnings to contemporary trends in global and domestic production. To introduce students to the concept of TV series script dramaturgy, methods and means of expression. To introduce students to the basics of the organization of dramatic material, concepts and the mutual relationship between a dramatic story, situation and characters. To introduce students to the stages of creating a script and its elements, from the idea, choosing a theme and story, research, plot, logline, synopsis, characterization and motivation of characters, treatment, scene sequences, episode scripts. To introduce students to the concept of structuring and formatting all elements of a script and to acquire knowledge about screenwriting methods and tools. Getting to know the concept of scenario economy. Introducing students to the concept of media responsibility and ethics within screenwriting work.
