Course objectives
The course provides students with a deeper understanding of the key dynamics that shape global politics and economics. The course analyzes the mutual influence of geopolitics and geoeconomics through topics such as great power rivalry, economic blocs, energy policy, technological conflicts, trade wars and climate change. Special emphasis is placed on the role of new powers (China, India, Brazil) in the international order, the implications of globalization and regionalization, as well as the growing influence of the digital economy. Through a multidisciplinary approach, students will develop critical thinking about global trends and their consequences for countries, regions and international organizations. The course includes case studies, discussions and analysis of current events in order to apply theoretical knowledge in a practical context.
