Course objectives
Start-ups start as small entrepreneurial ventures, but from the very beginning they have a clear tendency to grow and multiply (scalability). Given that start-up concepts differ from the way of working/doing business in large corporations, by attending this dynamic and interactive course, students will not only upgrade their existing knowledge, but also gain a completely new insight into the issues of starting an entrepreneurial venture. Management for Start-up Companies I is a course that will be useful to all those who in the foreseeable future - during or after completing their studies, or before or after gaining work experience in existing companies (including family businesses) - are thinking about starting their own entrepreneurial venture or expanding existing companies. Students will learn how to provide their entrepreneurial projects with continuous exposure to innovative action and reflections on adding new value, how to introduce innovations and add components of social innovation, which is increasingly becoming a requirement in modern entrepreneurship. The main objectives of this course are - to introduce students to the possibilities of designing and managing a start-up project, to acquire specific knowledge and skills in using entrepreneurial tools and techniques that will enable them to become an active participant in the labor market in Croatia and Europe, to test what they have learned when planning a start-up entrepreneurial venture, and to manage their business and/or entrepreneurial future.
