Course objectives
To introduce students to the principles of different functional styles in the Croatian standard language, to the diversity, characteristics and problems of the language of the media, primarily through a multitude of current examples, to make them aware that language and style in journalistic use of language need to be stylistically and normatively adapted to the type of media, type of newspaper or magazine, type of show, type of column or feature, interlocutor, reader or target audience, etc. The aim of the course is to upgrade and expand the knowledge acquired in the Fundamentals of Croatian Linguistic Culture course and to encourage students to independently research and observe media linguistic diversity.
