Course objectives
The aim of the course is to convey to students the specifics of contemporary English used in the media and to enable them to use typical vocabulary and structures from the field of public relations and media culture, as well as the basic differences from standard language. Students will practice forms of written and spoken media language according to the topics represented in the relevant fields of public relations and media. The course will enable students to use specific vocabulary and linguistic and grammatical structures of the English language. To instruct students in recognizing and applying the differences between standard, colloquial and media language. To develop in students the habit of following the press and other media in the English language. To develop in students the use of language skills (understanding the text, listening, writing and speaking) and fluency and accuracy at the B2+ level of language knowledge.
