Course objectives
To introduce students to writing for the "royal form", i.e. a feature film. The course is designed as the second part of two parts, with the first part being the course Feature Film Screenplay 1 in the second semester of the first year of study. These two courses form a unit in which students will master writing a screenplay for a feature film. The goal of the second part is to teach students how to write two hands of a screenplay. Unlike the first part, which deals with characterization and structure, the second part deals with rhythm and dialogue. Students will develop the ability to notice screenwriting procedures and recognize dramaturgical patterns on the examples of individual films. The goal is also to teach students how to analyze a film script by mastering the writing of scriptdoctor and scripteditor reports. To analyze films with non-classical dramaturgy (focus on European and Asian film). To analyze and understand successful and unsuccessful adaptations of literary models. To understand the relationships between screenplay and direction, screenplay and editing. Develop the ability to work in a team and with a mentor.
