The structure of the Internet of Things
ECTS: 5
Year/Semester: 1 . years, 1 . semester
Total hours: 60
Lecturers
Prof. Dubravko Babić, Asst. Prof. Davorin Valenčić
Course objectives
- The course introduces students to the IoT (Internet of Things) paradigm, which involves a system of interconnected physical devices that, for example, have the ability to perceive their environment, collect and exchange data, make predictions, interact with humans, and act autonomously, creating a certain type of interface between the physical and digital worlds. Such devices use a system of electronics, sensors, actuators, computer programs, and network connectivity to achieve their intended functionality. The course provides an introduction to the field of the Internet of Things, identifies the roles, purposes, technologies used, and related concepts involved in IoT development and application, and presents students with the general structure and application of the Internet of Things.
